Equipment & Material Procurement for Industrial Capital Projects

Cortex maintains a dedicated Global Supply Chain group that works alongside the project engineering team throughout the procurement process. This group brings established relationships with qualified vendors and suppliers across global markets — relationships built through repeat engagement on industrial capital projects that translate directly into better equipment pricing, shorter lead times and reduced sourcing risk for clients.

Vendor identification begins early — before bid packages are issued. Bid Development and Vendor Evaluations

Bid packages are built directly from project engineering documents — P&IDs, data sheets, load lists and 3D models — so vendor inquiries reflect actual process conditions from the start. Proposals are evaluated against process design, mechanical integration and utility requirements. Deviations are caught before purchase orders are issued, and constructability, tie-in strategy and installation sequencing are confirmed before commitments are made

Procurement continues through fabrication, delivery and field installation: equipment is tracked against construction schedules, reviewed against issued design documents, and verified by the same engineers who specified it — reducing startup conflicts and field-initiated change orders.

Across both projects, the procurement team negotiated $4.1M in savings against initial vendor quotes — a 17% reduction.
